Dance as a Movement

It’s not every day you have the opportunity to experience a dance company that is more than merely art or entertainment. InterSession, a dance and guard creative company, have dedicated their existence to “raising up potentially high risk youth, who in turn, become mentors to others.” Located in Memphis, TN, this organization examines real life situations in their works that will identify with the issues today’s youth face. Edgy, creative, and exploratory, this dance company reaches out to a young generation which is hungry for authentic understanding and connection.

Taking this work a step further, they are getting ready to put on a production entitled, a song of Sixpence, for which all proceeds will go to victims of human trafficking. This is a significant undertaking and deserves serious attention. You can support this amazingly creative and altruistic work by visiting their website at www.intersession.org.

InterSession director, Janis Leffler, leads this troupe of performers to employ their talents for the greater good. The upcoming production will be on May 18th at 7:00pm at the Buckman Performing Arts Center in Memphis. If you are in the area, you will not want to miss this opportunity to experience the performance and to be a part of contributing to the victims of human trafficking.

Great Things to do with PRINTING!

Stand out, grab attention, and get that new customer! A well-executed printing campaign can yield a significant return. One of the most effective ways to gain the eye of your target audience is to create a printed piece that engages more than normal. Printed pieces implement anything from a unique fold to a scratch off to get a customer to respond to the call to action.

Creative use of elements such as QR Codes or Augmented Reality (clickable print) increase the focus time your marketing piece receives. Generally, if a customer handles your printed piece longer, they will retain your message more effectively. Combining interesting effects, like a die cut and a QR Code can increase the impact.

QR Code PrintingThis original printed card for The Cornell Lab of Ornithology combines a colorful design and an unusual shape to encourage interaction with the piece. They took it one-step farther by incorporating three unique QR Codes that provide more information to the recipient. This tactic is an excellent way to be both memorable and informative.

This card is full color, 120# Gloss Cover paper with a custom die cut and gloss aqueous coating. Our print experts are able to help you explore options to add a new dimension to your printed materials that will enhance their effectiveness. Call 800-930-6040.

Booklet Printing: Going Beyond the Brochure

Perhaps you are aiming to reach as many new customers as possible before a big promotional event. Or you just launched a new product that is a perfect fit for your existing customer base. Whatever your goals, custom brochure printing is a big business. Sometimes a brochure is not quite large enough or the look and feel needs to be more substantial. In this case, custom booklet printing may be the answer.

Booklets are much like a mini-catalog and can be printed with a matching envelope or mailer, giving the finished project a polished, cohesive look. Booklets are usually assembled using a saddle stitch method that then allows the booklet to fold flat for mailing.

booklet printingConsider a booklet in lieu of a brochure when you want to highlight large imagery, like an interior designer or architect may need to do. Colorful booklets grab attention and have plenty of space to convey important details about your services or products. Attractive booklets are less likely to be thrown away than a traditional brochure and can gain the elusive attention of your target market. You may want to include industry specific tips and tricks that your customer will find helpful, increasing the value of the booklet.

We can incorporate personalization in your booklets, printing the customer’s name or targeting imagery based on their previous purchase habits with you. For example, if your database shows that a particular group of customers always buy a specific brand from your showroom, you can customize each booklet to have that brand on the cover.

You can even upgrade the look and feel of your booklet by graduating the size of each page assembled. This will give you attractive “tabs” that can be incorporated in the design and make it really stand out. This option is easy to implement and increases the appeal significantly. Our teams of print experts are available at 800-930-6040 to assist you with your next print project.

Good Habits Cultivate Good Relationships

business printingBuilding relationships and increasing your word-of-mouth marketing is essential in today’s competitive environment. Authentic is the new “wow” factor. Your customers will respond when your company has a clear set of values that support a well-defined vision and mission. One of the worst things you can do in building strong customer relations is failing to identify and be who and what you are. An established company culture is important in helping employees engage customers. When a company knows who they are, it frees both employees and customers to have genuine, productive interactions. Most importantly, it frees from the pressure to be all things to all people.

Two books you may want to consider reading are Youngme Moon’s “Different”, andgreat business books Andy Sernovitz’s “Word of Mouth Marketing.” Both of these house a plethora of sound advice and great insight. For a quick read that will help you identify the best habits for building extraordinary relationships with your client base, see this article from Inc.com.

When you are ready to print brochures, flyers, and company policy manuals that reflect your unique mission, vision, and values, we will help you get the best in quality. Call 800-930-6040 for assistance.

Here Comes the Boom (Actually, it’s already here)

The last five years have brought a number of major developments in the oil industry. With the recent death of Venezuela’s Hugo Chἁvez, even more change is imminent. Thanks to the Bakken Oil boom in North Dakota and Montana, the U.S. is well positioned to surpass Saudi Arabia as the world’s number one oil producer by 2020. The effects on the U.S. economy will be significant over the next five years, providing a positive momentum that is long over-due. Already, North Dakota has the lowest unemployment rate in the U.S. at just over 3.1%.

So what is “Bakken”?  The Bakken is a rock formation that lays subsurface across North Dakota, Montana, and Saskatchewan. It is named after farmer, Henry Bakken, who owned the land where the formation was initially discovered. Lucky Henry.

The boom has instigated an entire oil business culture in the North Dakota and Montana regions that had been dormant for years. New technology has enabled access to the vast oil reserves in the area. The Livingston, Montana based Bakken Oil Business Journal is part of this boom. The journal is published six times a year and distributed to a national audience. The Bakken Oil Business Journal also promotes current technologies and trends with an online presence that provides instant connectivity to the businesses involved in the Bakken.

catalog printingThe journal connects businesses for entrepreneurship, partnership, education, and money making purposes. This publication is aiming to become the one-stop Bakken Oil industry resource for anyone desiring to work and do business in the area. They are doing a bang up job of it too. Dedicated to the success of workers and businesses, the journal is always open to feedback from their audience. Even if you’re not tightly linked to the Bakken Oil industry, the valuable information provided by the journal can help you stay abreast of the developments that will impact the U.S. economy as a whole.

The Bakken Oil Journal is a PFL customer. We print the high-gloss, full-color magazine that is published six times a year. You can sign-up online for a complimentary subscription to the Bakken Oil Business Journal.

Life is about more than Chocolate: (well that’s what I’ve been told anyway)

The only thing better than delicious, European recipe chocolate, is delicious, European recipe chocolate with your logo on it. PFL customer Larry Wilhelm of CustomChocolate.net, has been providing promotional industry products for over ten years. This family run company takes the best tasting, rich chocolate and transforms it into a tool to promote and expand your company brand.

This chocolate is not some cheap, waxy excuse for chocolate. No, this is hand-made, hand wrapped 100% authentic and creamy. I know, because as soon as the photo shoot for this blog was over, I ate some. Ok, I ate a lot.

This entire enterprise takes an artisan approach to providing custom chocolate products you would be proud to share with clients and friends. They have literally thousands of standard molds, or you can have them create a custom mold based on your artwork. CustomChocolate.net can also customize 3D molds. They created “Bullseye”, the Target® Corporation’s dog mascot in a 3D white chocolate mold and hand painted the bulls eye on each piece. From a basic logo imprint, to a full 3D chocolate model, CustomChocolate.net can meet your needs!

This company also has a retail storefront in St.Paul, Minnesota called Laketown Chocolates. Feel free to stop in and sample the delectable offerings.

printing adhesivePrintingForLess.com prints the wrappers for their candy bars using finger lift tape, a method of gluing that creates a thin, tightly sealed closure. Our two main gluing methods can be used for an array of products that require a printed packaging element. We also offer a glue dot option, often referred to as “fugitive glue”, that is fully removable without damaging the base piece. We can do custom printing for any specialty niche you may have. Creative Printing: Putting the Pieces Together

Coming up with a specialty print design for the merger of two companies is not an easy proposition. There are so many things to consider. The loyal customers for each entity will need to be assured that they will not be losing their established relationship. It is also a good idea to boost confidence by explaining why the merger is happening and how that will benefit the current customers of both companies.

When we saw this piece at PFL we were impressed. The simplicity of the design conveys with ease the smooth merger of two companies. It is original and grabs the attention of the recipient. The creative use of a puzzle piece die cut sends the message that this merger is a good move with the copy, “We work well together.”

custom card printingWhen making an important announcement that impacts your existing customer base, it is a good idea to hire a professional graphic designer. In verbal communication body language and voice inflection mean as much as the words spoken. In the same way, design and quality are equally as important as the copy in printed communication. The Lane Group piece is an excellent example of combining copy, design, and quality to achieve the desired outcome.

Specifications:This piece is printed on 6X8 that is folded to a 4X6 card size. It is on dull matte 120# paper with a custom die cut.

When you need a commercial printer to execute on an important design, we are it. We partner with you to help you achieve your goals. Hey, every printer online makes claims about top quality printing. The fact is, quality comes from the best in people and experience, combined with the best in equipment and materials. That’s what we have been providing since 1996. At PFL we have staked our reputation and our profit on exceeding our customer’s expectations.

We are ready to be your print partner and value the opportunity to win you over. Call 800-930-6040 for a free consultation on your next big print project.
